Welcome to Bella Voices. We interview Sarah, a Creative Director and style leader, about redefining "Power Dressing." She shares why true authority comes from comfort, how she handles low-confidence days with her "Confidence Uniform," and her powerful advice for women: "Stop waiting. You are worthy of taking up space right now."

Welcome back to Bella Voices. Today, we are sitting down with Sarah, a Creative Director in East London and a long-time friend of the brand.

Sarah represents the quintessential Bella woman: ambitious, empathetic, and impeccably stylish. We asked her how she navigates the boardroom, balances comfort with authority, and what "Style. Beyond Size." means to her career.

Q: Sarah, you lead a large team. How do you define "Power Dressing" today?

Sarah: "For me, the definition has completely changed. Ten years ago, I thought power dressing meant wearing a rigid black suit that felt like armour. I was hiding. Now, I believe power comes from presence, not restriction.

My version of a power suit is a vibrant, jewel-toned Bella wrap dress or wide-leg trousers that flow. When I’m comfortable physically—when I’m not pulling at a waistband or worrying about a tight sleeve—I can focus 100% on my ideas and my team. That focus? That is real power."

Q: We all have days where we don't feel 100% confident. How do you handle those mornings?

Sarah: "Oh, absolutely. On those days, I rely on what I call my 'Confidence Uniform.' It’s the one outfit in my wardrobe (currently, it’s my navy Bella midi-dress) that I know works. I don't have to think about it. I put it on, add a bold red lip, and I tell myself: 'You might not feel it yet, but you look like you can handle anything.' Usually, by the time I get my morning coffee, the feeling catches up with the outfit."

Q: What is your advice for other women who are learning to embrace their size and style?

Sarah: "Stop waiting. Don't wait until you lose weight to buy the beautiful dress. Don't wait for a special occasion to wear the print. You are worthy of taking up space—physically, creatively, and stylishly—right now. Fashion is a tool. Use it to tell the world who you are, not to apologise for it."

Thank you, Sarah, for leading by example.

Add confidence to every moment with Bella plus London.
