Welcome back to Bella Voices. Today, we’re turning the spotlight over to you.

Since launching blog bella, we’ve received so many wonderful messages. But we’ve also heard your hesitations—the quiet questions you ask yourself in the changing room. As your Empathetic Stylist, I believe these questions deserve loud, confident answers.

Here are three of the most common questions we receive, answered with our signature "Style. Beyond Size." philosophy.

Q: "I love bold prints, but I’ve always been told they make me look 'bigger'. Should I avoid them?"

A: Absolutely not. Here is the truth: You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to be seen. The old rule that plus-size women should only wear solid black to "disappear" is one we are happily breaking.

If you love a print, wear it! The key is sophistication. Look for prints with a balanced scale (not too tiny, not overwhelmingly massive) and an elegant colour palette. When you wear a print that brings you joy, people don't see "size"; they see a woman with vibrant, confident style.

Q: "I’ve heard plus-size women shouldn't wear horizontal stripes. Is this true?"

A: This is perhaps the biggest myth in fashion history. Stripes are classic, chic, and unmistakably London. The secret isn't avoiding them; it's choosing the right ones.

Opt for a "Breton stripe" (a classic French/London look) where the stripes are balanced with negative space. Or, try a piece where the stripes vary in width. Most importantly, ensure the fit is fluid and empathetic, so the fabric doesn't pull. If you love the nautical look, wear it with pride.

Q:
"How can I look professional without feeling restricted in a suit?"

A: We hear this often. Professionalism shouldn't equal discomfort.

Ditch the stiff, boxy blazers. Instead, look for Power Dressing 2.0 pieces: soft-tailored jackets in ponte-knit fabrics that stretch, or fluid wide-leg trousers with a flat-front elasticated waistband. You can look sharp and commanding while feeling like you're in your favourite loungewear.
